Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving had a different "flavor" this year. We had our first adults only Thanksgiving Weekend. I missed the grandchildren desperately prior to "the day." However, I have to say we spent a wonderful weekend doing adult things with Dennis, Theresa, Laura and Nathan. And on the up side... I didn't forget anything for dinner. (the poor cranberry sauce has been missing from the initial table setting for years here due to all the last minute - "wash your hands," "put down that toy," "stop running around and come to the table," etc.) I didn't burn the bread(Of course, I didn't make bread this year either, but nonetheless, my reputation for charred remains is forever in the past!) Conversation and our traditional Thankful Remembrances was a thoughtful, funny affair. There was lots of laughing, joking, serious conversations. We did some fun things together and some things as couples. All in all, I would mark this holiday as a success.

Here are some of the pictures from the weekend:

The Wildlights show at the Columbus never fails
to entertain. This is a picture of the lake during
the show. It was wonderful!

This year there were 2 musical shows -
a Disney version and Trans Siberian Orchestra!
Both were fabulous!

Dennis and Theresa joined us for the Zoo tour.
Laura and Nathan were both working! They will
get their turn before Christmas!

We, four brave souls, bundled up like the
Pillsbury Doughboy, braved the cold and wind
to enjoy a night of Christmas music, magnificent
lights, and laughs at the Zoo.

C.O.L.D!!!!
I have to say it was colder as a guest than working in Admissions with my
requisite hand warmers and propane heater! :)

We all enjoyed Theresa's company throughout the weekend. Den and Theresa went to dinner one night, shopped, watched movies and enjoyed each other's company. Laura and Nathan worked and did schoolwork, as well as indulging in some family activities. The weekend ended way too fast. Theresa went home to NJ and everyone else's routine went back to normal. We look forward to New Year's when Theresa will be back on the prairie. Dennis is going to NJ for Christmas this year. It will be another groundbreaking holiday for all of us. Life only gets better!

We are very thankful for all the joyful changes in all of our lives!
