Lightning Strikes Twice on the Prairie!

Well blogger fans, for those of you who don't know, my tenure at McGraw-Hill officially ended last Monday. Here on the prairie in 2008, the phrase is not "no tickee, no shirtee," as a project worker it is "No projects, no positions. Sorry." That's right! It is a total and complete bummer! With budgets not being passed and costs being cut for educational materials in schools across the nation, sales of SRA materials have not been going well. The deficit number is BIG! Therefore, the domino that needed to fall (product sales) in order for me to have a position was not even teetering, so ......there were a stack of Project Workers let go - some with far more experience than I. Of course this doesn't speak well of our nation's economic state. The only thing I would like to know is - how the heck does lightning strike the same household twice in less than 3 months? If I had a lottery ticket, would I be as lucky? I think not. I am looking for a job doing something --- anything. I have all my paperwork now to "walk through" (and the underlying, literal meaning - "pay the price") for my teaching license here in Ohio. That is my first task on Monday morning. I have applied for unemployment, for the first time in my life, I may add. I hope that my attendance on that roster is short-lived! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! I am hoping that whole, Door-Window thing, is true. I am keeping my eyes and ears open for the latch unlocking......
