We are at the Half....2015

This winter was WICKED! Snow, ice, below zero temperatures,
Snow, ice, below zero temperatures, Snow, ice, below zero temperatures.
Rinse. Repeat.

The ice and snow covered roads

Snow on the trees and bushes

These ice fishermen were in this spot for MONTHS!

Snow in the forest
SNOW EVERYWHERE!
Every time I looked at the in ground pool buried in snow,
I missed the warmth even more!

After days of dreaming about summer....

Mother Nature began the slow....slow..... slow reversal process...
Deer were everywhere...

Three bucks looking for an adventure

The streams thawed

Paths became visible

Walking was easier

Frozen waterfalls dripped icy water

Snow melted off roofs and driveways, until...

...all that was left...was one small noble patch of
snow worthy of mention remained.
Once again, we could walk the paths,
climb the bridges, and peer over for fish, frogs, and chipmunks,
walk by the icy stream!
And, best of all, we could have picnics in the grass once again!

Meanwhile, inside our homestead, there were BIG changes going on!

Sadie was an "only" dog... then...

Laura adopted a 1.5 year old Cockapoo named Harley from
the Marysville Pound. He was severely underweight, horribly
matted, with an oozing skin rash and had a painful double ear
infection. Not sure how she saw all this sweetness through it
all, but she did! As you can see his sweatshirt is terribly large
on him. He was nothing but skin and bones and really skittish!
But with love, all things are possible! Harley settled down, the
longer he was here. He gazes at Laura with moonstruck eyes as
he shadows her every move. It was love at first sight!
Of course, one must be prepared to walk the dogs in the Ohio
winter weather!

Some are more warm-blooded than others... Or...
my house is WAY too warm!
It took a few weeks before we could do this... but now...
all's well that ends well. Sadie and Harley are inseparable!
Harley settled into the family, and it was hard to
remember a time he wasn't with us.

Theresa Contor joined our merry band of men in late January.
She found a job within a few days. Life was good on the prairie!

There were girl nights out...

with a few flights!

Sadie and Harley were remain inseparable!

Happy girl!

Happy healthy boy!

Kentucky Derby Day! The usual party was AT the
Derby so we decided to take a few spoof pics of our own
simulating a grand affair in THEIR backyard!

Then... Dennis closed on HIS HOUSE!!!!
We celebrated in style!

A turtle laying eggs on our daily walk!

And the scenery....

Some of the neighbors stopped by to see
what we have done to the place

We spent a full 10 days at our place...wait for it...
WITHOUT WORKING EVERY DAY!

Napping during the heat of the day...This is living!!!

We met up with Rob and Lee who recently moved to Ft. Myers
to enjoy a few fun filled hours in Tarpon Springs!

When we flew home on Memorial Day,
we were lucky enough to celebrate
with Dennis and Theresa, Laura and Nathan,
in Dennis' new house! (pics of new house to follow)

A homeowner's work is never done!
